Confirmation

Jesus promised his disciples that they would be baptised in Spirit and Fire, which means to be immersed in the life of God himself, to fully be Christian.

It is an important step in the process of developing a mature Christian faith.

Confirmation is available for Young adults in Years 10 and 11, although it is possible to wait until becoming older to receive the sacrament.

My experience in the church has been amazing, especially with my confirmation group. My fellow confirmandies are really lovely and make me feel at home and the adults in the group who help us have guided me and helped me feel closer to God. It’s been a blast and makes me excited to come to church, to pray, worship and experience the welcoming community

new Sacramental Preparation - new dates for 2023 new

The preparation for adults is detailed in the RCIA page.

The next sacrament is scheduled for the 3 December 2023 5.30 to 7pm, when Bishop John Sherrington will be with us to confirm our candidates. Details of the programme can be found here

A registration meeting has been scheduled for candidates and parents on 19 September 6.00pm to 7.30pm. Please register your interest below.

Teenagers usually do their confirmation between school years 10 and 12. The preparation begins in September with meetings most weeks on Tuesday evenings 6:00-7:30pm. There will also be a half day day of retreat on Sunday 5 November.

The confirmation preparation is a great opportunity to make friends with other teenagers attending the parish. We are happy to have them as part of the Parish Youth Group.

Applications are open between June and September 2023.

Deadline for registration is Monday 11 September

On the day of my baptism and confirmation, I experienced being very happy, pleased of having accomplished my desire to be closer to God. It was a beautiful and magical day! I could feel such a good and positive energy coming from everyone at church. People were welcoming us, happily, filled with joy. My colleagues and I were surprised when being congratulated by people we did not know, but realising we actually did because they are our sisters, brothers in the house of God.
