Kids & Teens

Kids and teens have a very special place at Christ the King.

We have a dedicated team who design and run a variety of events and activities on Sundays throughout the year. All our activities focus on being fun, engaging and relevant to the young people of our parish.

Children’s Liturgy.

Children from 3 to 10 years old are welcome to participate in their own Children’s Liturgy during our 11am Sunday Mass. This starts shortly after the beginning of the Mass and the children return during the offertory. Parents are welcome to join their children. On the first Sunday of the month there is a Family Mass and children remain in the church for its duration.

Our Children’s Liturgy consists of creative sessions around a Bible story, with music and prayer. At times, the children are divided into smaller age groups.

This approach helps to foster a positive relationship with our church and its teachings, and seeks to build confidence in sharing and showing faith. It is also a great way to make new friends, not only for the children, but for the whole family, as there is the opportunity to meet and connect with others in the parish.

Teenagers

Our dream is that our teenagers enjoy coming to church on Sundays as much as the adults do!

We welcome our teenagers to volunteer as an opportunity to serve, to gain experience and to feel involved.

This is also an opportunity for many of our teenagers to build friendships through church and to share church life together.

We hold dedicated Masses for teenagers on Sunday afternoons throughout the year, which is a way to recognise our teenagers and to ensure they feel valued as members of our young community. > Learn more.

Meet our Sunday Kids & Teens team

I am so happy to welcome the children with their families on Sunday mornings to celebrate the Lord’s day.
Through the ‘Children’s Liturgy of the Word’, together with the other catechists, we hope to nurture the faith of the children, helping them to develop a loving relationship with Jesus and a positive image of God.

In Children’s Liturgy we don’t give the children ‘kidee religion,’ but the deepest truths of our faith. It’s a privilege for me to ponder the most essential message of the Sunday gospel so I can listen with the children to what God is saying.

The cabin gives the children an opportunity to let off steam after Mass while their parents enjoy a coffee in peace.
I only wish that something similar existed when I was a kid! My two boys love it!!!
