Baptism
Baptism is the most important thing that can happen in your life. We are saved from the power of sin and made children of God.
There is no age to be baptised, it is meant both for adults who can say yes in person, of for newborn babies as an act of anticipation and welcoming into the Church.
Sacramental Preparation
Whether you’re an adult, a young person or a parent, the sacrament of baptism requires preparation.
The plan for adults is detailed in the RCIA page.
For parents who wish to have their child baptised, our parish offers a Baptism Course consisting of three sessions of one hour each, with a previous interview of 30 minutes. These sessions intend to explore the meaning of baptism and parenthood in a friendly atmosphere.
The course is run several times a year, depending on the requests for baptisms. We usually have three or four families for each course. The three sessions are held on Sunday morning, 10-11am. Families are invited to join either the 9am or the 11am Sunday Mass, that is to say before or after the sessions.
Children baptisms are usually celebrated on Saturdays after the 11am Mass, but this can be discussed during the Course with the minister who will celebrate the sacrament.
