Let’s become followers of Jesus Christ

(more and more)

Dear Fellow parishioners

I wish you all a very good academic year. After two challenging years, even if everything isn’t over in terms of Covid, we are noticing that life is going back to ‘normal’ little by little, or at least towards a new ’normality’. More and more of you are coming back to Church in person.  The Parish and Giulia’s celebration has been so oversubscribed that we have had to change our plans.

It is now time to re-launch the parish activities. I would like to speak this weekend about the vision of the parish and its principal applications.

Based on our vision for the Parish as Church as a family (everyone receives something for themselves and also gives something to others), I would like to suggest something new to help us to further develop our fellowship within the Parish.

For the second year, I would like to focus on the fellowship aspect. Obviously, as a parish we gather at the weekend around the Sunday Masses; however, we could go deeper through being part of the Cockfosters Sharing Groups (CSG). The purpose of these small groups is to grow in faith through personal sharing of our lives in the light of the scriptures. These groups are for everyone; singles, couples, divorced, elderly, young… to be part of a small group (7-10 people) meeting once every 3 or 4 weeksThe lockdown has shown us how important it is to connect with one another. Our parish wants to provide these safe places for everyone who wants them, where we can be ourselves with our fellow Christian brothers and sisters.

THE COCKFOSTERS SHARING GROUPS will be starting up again with an introductory meeting on the 4 October (7.30-9.15pm). All interested are requested to register online or through the Parish Office. www.christthekingcockfosters.co.uk

Update - Parish Celebration & Giu

lia’s Farewell

Saturday 18th September at 6.30pm

Due to the extremely large number of people who have registered for this celebration and to wish Giulia well we have had to change our plans. The event will take place as planned, however, we are unable to cater for such a large group.

We will provide cake and some snacks and there will be a cash bar as previously planned. It might be a good idea to eat before you arrive!

There will be a presentation for Giulia as part of the celebrations around 8.30pm.

Leaving Gift

We know many of you have wonderful memories of Giulia working with your families. We are organising a Farewell Thank You collection for her. If you would like to contribute please leave your gift with Suzanne in the parish office. Thank you!

Photos & Memories

If you have any photos and/or anecdotes of Giulia you would like to share, please send them to the parish office.
