I LOVE WORSHIPPING
“The one who sings prays twice” is what St. Augustine believes when describing worshipping the Lord with the gift that He gave us through our voices.
Worshipping God is what I love not only because it brings peace to my soul, but also because it is what we were made to do. "Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care" Psalm 95, 6-7.
We were made in the great love of God, so we must give this love back through worship and adoration. My name is Davide and I have been at Christ the King for many years. I had moved to London from a small city in Sicily at only 9 years of age and after a couple of years of living here my mum had discovered this church unexpectedly. I then had my first holy communion and confirmation just as the Chemin Neuf community was beginning to settle in. Even though faith always remained with me, whilst growing up, I lost touch with the church until I was brought back a few years ago. Kind of like a lost sheep found by his good shepherd! I then began to be involved with the music ministry and met all the talented, welcoming and loving people of the parish.
At the end of October 2023, I attended my first ever live worship concert and I believe that this was the Lord's will as it happened in a very un-planned way, and it led to many new unexpected situations and feelings. This was a pivotal point for me as the atmosphere, that one voice created in the room and Jesus' presence ignited the fire of passion for the love of God within me. Now, there is a feeling in me to be able to share what I've experienced by bringing live worship to Christ the King. During this time, I'd also began writing an original piece, now known as "The King of All", a heartfelt song, which pours out praise and love for God.
I feel so lucky to have been able to work with amazing people, specifically with my co-organiser (but most importantly my good friend) Ewelina, the amazing team of singers and musicians and everyone else involved behind the scenes, who are working together to bring this worship event alive. We will become one voice for the Lord, sing and praise Him for what He has done, and worship who He is.

Focus of the Week
WORSHIP EVENT
The parish of Christ the King will hold a worship event; an evening with music, prayer and solidarity. You’re all invited to join us in praise and worship for God organised and led by Ewelina and Davide, along with an incredible group of musicians.

Everyone is invited; The Lord welcomes all! We look forward to a wonderful spiritual time together.
