WORDS OF THANKS

Many of you will know that I recently had an accident.  I am pleased to say that, after what seems like an age, I am finally back to full fitness.

While I was in hospital I had a lot of time to think about my priorities in life. Of course, my wife and children were foremost in my mind as you might expect, but I also experienced a deep affinity with our church and its congregation here at Christ the King.

A number of you visited me in hospital and I know that many of you were praying for me which I felt strongly from my hospital bed. I would like to thank you for all of those prayers and kind thoughts which almost certainly aided my recovery.

I would say to each of you that you can rest assured in the knowledge that our parish pulls together with love and support for each of us in times of need. Do not be afraid to ask for prayers when times are hard.

As Fr Christophe described in his recent blog (available on the parish Youtube channel) entitled ‘Vanity of Vanities’, it is always good for each of us to think about what our priorities are in life and try our hardest to dismiss the things that we can either do nothing about or could spend less time worrying about.  For me, my accident and the subsequent weeks have given me the opportunity to reflect and make this part of my daily thinking.  This has really helped me and I would encourage others to consider a similar approach to life.

With many thanks and blessings.

Graeme Walsh
