Rejoice in everything

Dear Parishioners,

I thank the Lord for the year we have had especially after two years of COVID. Once again the Summer Hog Roast Party is an opportunity to rejoice together. Speaking about joy, I want to share with you a text we received at the Net for God prayer group a week ago. The three main points which have helped me are; rejoicing, not to worry about anything and the promise of His peace.

May you always be joyful in your union with the Lord. I say it again: rejoice!

Show a gentle attitude towards everyone. The Lord is coming soon. Don’t worry about anything, but in all your prayers ask God for what you need, always asking him with a thankful heart. And God’s peace, which is far beyond human understanding, will keep your hearts and minds safe in union with Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:4-6

PARISH SUMMER NEWS

Let me now update you on the arrangements for the summer. Due to the holiday season it is good to slow the rhythm down, therefore a few adjustments have been made.

  • The last Children’s liturgy will be on17 July.

  • The last Adoration will be on Friday 22 July.

  • We will still have a daily mass at 11am (not Tuesday).

  • During August we will be combining the two Sunday morning masses into one mass at 10.00 am (tea and coffee will still be provided after this mass).

I have good news to share, after Fr Pascal’s trip to Maritius he will return in September as our official Assistant Priest.

I am pleased to telll you from September we will have our ‘Cockfosters Sunday Evening Mass’ at 5.30pm on the third Sunday of every month followed by the ‘Cockfosters Parish Pub’.

Please put in your diary and register for the volunteers celebration on 18 September from 3 – 5.30 pm followed by the Cockfosters Sunday Evening Mass.

Finally, I wish you a lovely, relaxing summer. I am going to be away for a few weeks (mission, holidays and formation). I will be back in the parish at the end of July.
