Pastoral Letter on the Environment for Pentecost

The Bishops of England and Wales have prepared a Pastoral Letter on the environment, for use in churches on 23 May 2021, Pentecost Sunday.

Cardinal Vincent Nichols, Archbishop of Westminster, says that “it is a somewhat different from a normal pastoral letter. It addresses a very public theme, and concern, about our care for the created world. It does so through the perspective of our Catholic faith, which sees creation as God’s work, and properly understood as our human environment. The letter comes at the time of two crucial meetings, of the G7 and COP26.”
