Many years ago today

Many years ago today, in a town so far away,

There was born a little boy, whose bed was only hay.

Shepherds came from fields afar,

and three wise men led by star,

To this place where Christ was born,

To this place where Christ was born,

Christ, the Lord, Christ, the Lord!

Born to save, born today!

Christ, the Lord, Christ, the Lord!

Born to save, born today!

When they saw him lying there,

in a stable - oh so bare!

With his mother by his side, so gentle and so fair.

They bowed down in wondering,

for they knew he was their king

And they gave him gifts of love;

And they gave him gifts of love;

Christ, the Lord, Christ, the Lord!...

Though this happened long ago,

time on earth it has to grow

And it matters not the year,

for now he's born I know.

So let's join the stable there

and rejoice with gifts of prayer,

For we know he's our king too,

For we know he's our king too,

Christ, the Lord, Christ, the Lord!...
