Our parish activities for children and teenagers!

Dear all, I hope you had a marvelous time with your family and loved ones and had the possibility to rest and recharge!! We are now starting again all our parish activities and below I have briefly highlighted those concerning our youth

1. Sunday 11am Mass: it’s our main mass with vibrant music and children’s liturgy for younger children (4-8 years old); those children who are too young to understand our children’s liturgy or might be unsettled during mass we are able to provide some space for them to be supervised by their parents.

2. Sunday Evening Mass: every third Sunday of each month we will celebrate an evening mass at 5.30pm. Interactive celebration, informal atmosphere, followed by our “Cockfosters Parish Pub”.

3. The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd: a weekly gathering for children aged 3-6 years old to nurture their spiritual life through a Montessori approach; it runs on Sundays or Wednesdays (9.30am-11.30am) in the atrium.

4. First Holy Communion: for children in year 3 (8 years old) upwards; it involves both parents and children (it includes 14 sessions, the Timothy Weekend, the Nativity Drama) and runs on Sunday morning from 9.45am to 10.45am, followed by our family mass. Our introductory meeting for both parents and children is on Sunday 16 October at 9.45am.

5. Confirmation: for teenagers in year 10 (14-15 years old) upwards; it includes 11 sessions, one-day retreat, a mass of commitment, a workshop, and 2 parents’ meetings; it runs on Friday evenings from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. Our introductory meeting for both parents and teenagers is on 16 September at 7.30pm.

6. Youth Group: for teenagers aged 13-18 and it runs every first and third Sunday of each month from 5pm to 6.30pm. On the first Sunday of each month the youth will experience the joy of having fun together (outdoor and indoor games, movies, outings, etc..) while on the third Sunday they will get the chance to put into practice their catholic faith and experience parish life by being actively involved both in our Cockfosters Evening Mass and Cockfosters Parish Pub.

Last but not least, I am leaving my role as Catechetical Coordinator at Christ the King Parish and going on a pilgrimage to Medjugorje to take some personal time to discern better the will of God and my next step in life. Thank you so much for this wonderful year spent together. I will cherish every moment in my heart and keep each of you in my prayer. God bless you all.
