Dorothy Day is one of the most influential American figures of the 20th century. Through the Catholic Worker Movement, a collection of communities dedicated to hospitality and service to the poorest, which she co-founded, she fought for her life against exclusion, poverty, social and racial injustice. In a period marked by numerous world conflicts, she took a radical stand in favour of pacifism.
